Description
Bubble hash.
Bubble hash. Bubble hash .”Bubble hash is refined hashish that bubbles when smoked. The name was coined by Bubble Man, the Canadian hashish innovator who created a hashish sieving system that uses ice, water and multiple levels of screening in order to remove the resin gland heads from the cannabis plant material, and to further remove any impurities from the hashish leaving a very pure resin.
The use of only water and multiple levels of sieving to isolate the concentrated material is ideal for health-conscious consumers and/or medical patients for whom which chemical processing is undesirable or possibly a health risk. Ice water hash and ice water hash systems were available, namely from Mila of Amsterdam, but they used a minimal number of screens.’- Urban dictionary.
Different ways to make cannabis concentrates, many of which are called bubble hash.
Butane
Butane is the most common solvent used to extract the oils and resins of cannabis, especially the cannabinoids and terpenes. The butane is evaporated off easily at low temperature and the THC, CBD and other cannabinoids are left behind. Some of the lighter terpenes may be lost in this process. Normally this extract is called BHO or butane hash oil rather than bubble hash, but people can overlap the two terms. The downside of this method is that its dangerous and many fires and explosions result from mishandling butane. It’s also illegal in most states without a special license.
CO2
Liquid carbon dioxide can be used to extract cannabis oils and resins too. Since carbon dioxide boils off at room temperature, and CO2 is not toxic at all, the remaining extract is very pure and contains only the essential oils and resin of cannabis, and the extraction of THC is nearly 100% using this method. This method is great for large scale manufacture, and it’s safe, but you need to have somewhat expensive equipment to use this technique.
Heat and Pressure
A homemade method not necessarily recommended is Heat and Pressure. Using only a hair straightener as a heat source and pressing hard, the isolate THC will melt together into a nice THC-rich blob of extract.
